DSM NUTRITIONAL PRODUCTS ASIA PACIFIC Pte Ltd: GAPPS Recruitment Assessment
DSM NUTRITIONAL PRODUCTS (DNP) is the world’s leading supplier of vitamins, carotenoids and other fine chemicals to the feed, food, pharmaceutical and personal care industries. It is a pioneer in the discovery of new products, formulations and applications for all industry segments.
DSM’s Vision 2010 presents DSM with a range of human resource challenges:
- To attract, develop, reward and retain talent at all levels.
- To increase the diversity of workforce, in terms both of nationality and of gender.
- To ensure that new and existing employees are given the opportunity to develop their talents.
The Challenge
In view of these challenges, DNP Asia Pacific (DNPAP) is seeking to acquire and implement the best human resource practices to develop strong cross-regional and cross-functional relationships to provide a foundation for growth and continuous improvement within the successful Animal Nutrition and Health team.
It is with this in mind that DNPAP selected our GAPPS recruitment assessment and feedback coaching as an added recruitment tool to create a best-in-class hiring and development strategy to objectively assess the potential and suitability of the candidate(s) considering their culture, business needs and growth opportunities.
The Solution
With rigorous reliability and validity, GAPPS is a 76-question leadership capability self- assessment tool that provides 3 important profiles:
- Leadership Dimensions – Intellectual Capability, Managerial Competencies and Emotional Intelligence
- Leadership Team Role Preference and Behaviors
- GAINMORE™ Development Profile
The profiles provide a detailed report on the individual’s strengths and areas for development, considering the overall organisational goals and the individual’s job function, either looking for particular strengths to complement (or diversify) the team or to provide additional information for better decision making.
The Results
At DNPAP, the benefits of using GAPPS in recruitment are more than just adding objective assessment to candidate selection. The successful candidate joins with known development needs. Unsuccessful candidates get much more value than from other organisations as they receive a personal development plan in moving forward positively in their job search.
Dr. Karim Kumarly (Vice President Asia Pacific) summed up his satisfaction with our GAPPS recruitment assessment saying, “I have found GAPPS to be an extremely powerful and effective tool in assisting us to identify suitable candidates for our team. I am considerably impressed not only with the accuracy of the reports but the manner of their approach in giving feedback coaching that is professional and beneficial to my team and candidates themselves.”
